Overview

Bowden Manufacturing is a growing aerospace and defense manufacturer located in Lake County, Ohio. We are seeking a Staff Accountant/ Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations and financial reporting within our organization.

This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting internal controls, and assisting with financial analysis. The Staff Accountant will work closely with operations and leadership to ensure financial data supports informed business decisions.

This position reports directly to the Controller and offers strong exposure to financial operations within a manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

• Process and verify vendor invoices while resolving cost variances and identifying opportunities for cost control
• Manage vendor payments, apply tax exemptions, and reconcile unvouchered receipts
• Handle daily cash applications, collections, credit memos, and customer account inquiries
• Assist in preparing weekly bank borrowing certificates and maintaining cash flow forecasts
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with financial reporting including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Assist with audit preparation and coordination with external auditors

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• 3–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cash management
• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems such as Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP, Infor, or Syteline
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork capabilities
