Ophthalmic Technician – Eye Care Practice

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our busy, patient-centered eye care practice. This role is essential in supporting providers, maintaining efficient patient flow, and ensuring high-quality clinical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient workups: visual acuity, intraocular pressure, refractions (if trained), pupil testing, EOMs
• Obtain and document medical histories and chief complaints
• Assist with diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, topography)
• Prepare patients for examination and assist the provider during visits and minor procedures
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up care
• Administer eye drops as directed
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation in the EMR
• Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and functioning properly

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician required
• Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
• Comfortable with EMR systems and diagnostic equipment
