Electrical Estimator / Project Manager

Position Overview

Schaffhouser Electric is seeking an experienced and career-driven Electrical Estimator/Project Manager to join our team in White House, TN. This role is responsible for preparing accurate bids and cost estimates for industrial and commercial electrical projects, ensuring profitability and project success.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and experience in estimating and project management within the electrical construction industry.

Basic Function

The Electrical Estimator develops detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and time required on electrical construction projects to secure profitable work for the company.

Key Objectives:

• Secure industrial and commercial electrical projects. Prepare and submit estimates on behalf of the company within established guidelines.
• Ensure profitability and accuracy in all estimates. Responsible for project evaluations, bid preparation, and administrative follow-up.
• Conduct site visits before, during, and after the bid process.
• Maintain open communication with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and field/internal teams.

Requirements

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an electrician program or relevant industrial/commercial experience preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years in electrical contracting, including 3+ years of estimating experience.
• Strong industrial and commercial background preferred.
• Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid Pro preferred).

Licenses:

• Valid Driver’s License required.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficient in estimating software, spreadsheets, and document creation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, project specifications, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines.

Working Conditions

• Office (90%) – Climate-controlled environment with regular computer use.
• Field (10%) – Site visits in industrial plants or outdoor environments

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project takeoffs and estimates from drawings, sketches, or site visits.
• Obtain supplier quotes and ensure realistic pricing.
• Review labor and efficiency requirements with Operations and Project Managers.
• Assist with scheduling, material planning, and project setup.
• Maintain communication with PMs throughout project execution.
• Ensure all bid documentation, permits, and insurance requirements are met.
• Conduct post-project analysis for continuous improvement.
• Uphold customer-first values and promote excellence across all project stages.
